Safeguarding Multi-UAVs Relaying Communications via Joint Trajectory Design and Power Control

Unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is used as a relay to transmit information in wireless communication due to its flexible deployment and reliable link. We assume that the signal source and the destination are far away from each other and they can’t achieve reliable communication. Meanwhile, there are eavesdroppers on the ground which have imperfect location information. We consider deploying the multi-UAVs as relays to secure wireless communication against eavesdropping. We can adjust resource allocation more flexibility by the multi-UAVs than by a single UAV. To maximize the throughput in the destination, we propose a strategy via joint UAVs’ trajectories optimization and power allocation to solve the optimization problem based on successive convex approximation (SCA) and S-procedure. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can obtain better performance than the benchmark algorithm.
