Performance Evaluation Into the Fault-Tolerant operation of SRM with Proportional-Integral and Integral-Proportional Speed controllers

摘要

In this paper, performance investigation is carried out on a 12/8 SRM motor built for traction application. The motor is designed with an optimum stator and rotor teeth so that the average torque per ampere is at its maximum, and the torque ripple is at its lowest. New motor design is obtained with an average torque and torque ripple equal respectively to 0.34N.m and 21%. This built motor has undergone extensive testing to evaluate its performance, and in particular investigation is being carried out for fault tolerant operation under digital controller using proportional integral and integral proportional regulators separately. These control strategies rely on current hysteresis control and for optimum excitation angles. The simulated and experimental results show that the motor is able de perform well with IP controllers under various starting and steady state conditions and in particular under abnormal conditions related to one and two phases faults.
