In the last years the importance of linear motors in many industrial fields increased. In a long primary, permanent magnet linear servo-drive system, based on distributed controllers, a point-to-point serial communication topology between the controllers is proposed. The means by which the whole system can be controlled and monitored as well as experimental results are presented.
