Haptic touchscreens equipped with piezoelectric actuators are now widely integrated in consumer products (mobile, car dashboard, etc.) based on "generic" vibratory parameters. In this study, users are asked to build their own personalized haptic patterns and to associate those to predefined actions. Two main goals are explored: 1) the analysis of the most differentiating factors in the allocation of personalized signals to predefined actions, 2) the characterization of personalized vibratory signals by analyzing how they compare to generic haptic signals.
