'Machine Beauty' - Should It Inspire eHealth Designers?

摘要

Features embedded in the scheme of "machine beauty" are worth consideration in the eHealth area. Ideas of minimalism and elegance of design are some key elements of this scheme. One purpose of minimalist design is to increase the understandability of products, which is particularly applicable in the eHealth area. Striving for minimalism in the eHealth area means reasonable choices in production policy and understanding the meaning of quick impressions. Minimalism and aesthetic values in design are considered in this study in relation to different qualities. When the meaning of intended minimalist operations are assessed in the way how they interrelate with quality requirements, the meaning of intended minimalist operations can be better assessed. This article considers this theme from the viewpoints of eHealth design and quality with design science approach.
