摘要

The 3G based GEO satellite mobile communication system has become a leading satellite mobile communications system along with technologies' maturity and customers' growing traffic needs. This paper proposes a kind of 3G based GEO satellite mobile communication systems architecture, studies the system's end-to-end service application, models different types of traffic using structure method, and studies the system's service support ability by performance simulation in according to designed parameters. The simulation results show that the traffic characters of proposed 3G based GEO satellite mobile communication systems are similar with the counterparts of terrestrial systems and can meet the users' broadband multimedia service needs. The paper's achievement can serve the 3G based GEO satellite mobile communication system design.
