In this paper, an improved approach for the fitting of solar cell device parameters is proposed. This approach dynamically divides the solar cell current density-voltage curve into several partitions, and extracts each of the cell's parameters from the appropriate range of the curve. The partitioned ranges are then optimized to minimize the fitting error and extract the optimized parameter values. Additionally, this method has been successfully integrated with an advanced series resistance estimation method, giving results consistent with the Jsc-Voc method that requires more parameters and numerous device measurements. This modeling method has been demonstrated to be fast, accurate, and robust, and could serve as a valuable tool for the photovoltaic community.
