This paper is dedicated to apply Hilbert-Huang Transform (HHT) method on fault detections of a multi-phase generator - diode rectifier set. The system structure, principle of the HHT, and part of the fault detection simulation results are shown in this paper. The applicability of HHT on fault diagnosis of a multi-phase machine system is illustrated by analyzing the simulation results.
