Two square TEM transmission cells with side heights 30 cm and 50 cm were designed for the calibration of RF-hazard monitors. The error due to reflections was reduced from ?±10 % to ?±2 % (input VSWR < 1.2) by lengthening straight sections and measuring the longitudinal E-field patterns at calibration frequencies. Comparison measurements with small probes showed that the maximum difference between the cells was 7 % except some sharp resonance points caused by TEM harmonics and TE01 mode. The vertical field non-uniformity was also examined.
