The assessment of THz radiation exposure at the level of the Stratum Basale (SB) is the most important consideration since this layer contains the proliferating basal cells and melanocytes. Simulations suggest that, although there are regions of SAR increase of 100% above the local average, the thermal impact of radiation when using ICNIRP (2013) guidelines is negligible. Simulations suggest that the of sweat ducts rests entirely on the assumptions of the sweat conductivity. The helical structure has minimal effect on the local SAR pattern.
