NEW DEVELOPMENT AND UTILIZATION OF CHINESE OIL SHALE

1. Class Ⅰ basins have 22 billion tons oil shale (3.1% total resources) 2. Class Ⅱ basins have 492 billion tons oil shale (68.4% total resources. 3. Class Ⅲ basins have 122 billion tons oil shale (17.1% total resources). 4. Class Ⅳ basins have 82 billion tons oil shale (11.4% total resources). Class Ⅱ, Ⅲ basins contain the majority of oil shale resources, however, a large fraction of Chinese oil shale resources have not yet been proved, and much exploration and investigation is needed.
