Conclusions: The varied morphology of the -80°C sponges observed by the SEM should correlate to increased surface area in this group. These sponges degraded more rapidly upon contact with the degradation solution. This study found that the -80°C sponges provide a longer release profile compared to the -20°C sponges. This longer release profile and shorter degradation time may make the -80°C sponges preferable to their -20°C counterpart.
