In this paper, a fault-tolerant controller selection strategy for the F-16 fighter with fault misdiagnosis is proposed. Firstly, a multiplicative fault model for its actuator is built, and a design method of H_∞ fault-tolerant controller for the F-16 fighter model is provided. Secondly, according to the severity of system faults, a cost function of the selection strategy is designed for selecting a pre-computed controller in the presence of fault misdiagnosis. The proposed selection strategy can optimize the balance between the stability and the control performance of faulty system. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed strategy is verified by simulations.
