It is very dangerous for the in-pipe detector to block during operation. In this paper, based on the idea that negative pressure waves detect leaks in pipelines, the theory of pressure-based in-pipe detector blocked positioning is proposed. Image processing methods is applied to quickly detect and accurately locate the positive and negative pressure waves on the pressure curve. The pressure curve is converted into a one-dimensional gray image and the image edge detection method is utilized to determine the starting point of the pressure mutation. Specifically, pressure data is expressed as gray scale to make the positive and negative pressure waves more obvious. The simulation and application shows the effective and good performance of the proposed methods.
