CenterPoint RTX service provides real-timeGNSS positioning with global coverage and fastinitialization. The service is transmitted via sixgeostationary satellites using L-band and via NTRIP. Thehorizontal accuracy of kinematic positioning is better than4 cm (95%) anytime, anywhere, and it is achieved within30 minutes.The CenterPoint RTX system is based on the generationof precise orbit and clock corrections for GNSS satellites.These corrections are generated in real time using datastreams from approximately 100 globally distributedreference stations belonging to Trimble’s trackingnetwork. Since its introduction in 2011, the system hasundergone two major releases (spring 2012 and spring2013), which included general performanceimprovements regarding convergence time, as well as theintroduction of additional services like RangePoint RTXand features like xFill. Today, Trimble CenterPoint RTXsupports GPS, GLONASS and QZSS signals.In this work, the CenterPoint RTX system was modifiedin order to include correction generation for Galileo andBeiDou systems, and a prototype “all-GNSS” engine wasused to demonstrate the positioning performance usingdata from ten stations in the Asia-Pacific region, inkinematic mode, during 4 days of August 2013.The addition of Galileo and BeiDou satellites to thestandard RTX processing resulted in a reduction of 37%in the convergence time (95-percentile level), and thehorizontal positioning errors were reduced by 16% for theselected dataset.This represents a considerable improvement in thecurrently available service and great benefits are expectedonce the Galileo and Beidou support is enabled in theCenterPoint RTX service.Trimble has taken steps for the worldwide GNSS users tobenefit from the improved CenterPoint RTX performancethrough Trimble’s enhanced, freely available postprocessingservice (RTX-PP). Therefore, RTX-PP wasextended by an experimental service supporting Galileoand BeiDou satellites.
