In the presented paper, some aspects of the moored multi-legged floateroperation in ice cake and current conditions are studied. Theinvestigations are based on numerical simulations of thesemisubmersible/ice interaction using the discrete element method forthe ice cake field modeling. The calculations were performed for theplatform operation in current condition in open water without ice and inpresence of ice. The kinematic parameters of the semisubmersiblemotion and the lines tensions in both cases were compared. The resultshave shown differences in the platform behavior, as well as in loads onthe mooring system and in the tension distribution along the mooringlines due to the ice action.
