Market Potential of Internet of Vehicles and Urban Traffic Conditions in China - Finding from a Recent Survey

Traffic congestion, traffic accidents, and traffic exhaust emission have become major problems in most of China's large cities, as demonstrated by the wide-range air pollution and severe smog in many large cities across the whole China. Internet of vehicles (IOV) proposes a novel way to alleviate the urban traffic congestion problem, and thus reduces the amount of traffic exhaust emission. A large-scale survey with a total number of over 800 questionnaires had been conducted in Hangzhou by Supcon Information Technique (SUPCONIT) Co. Ltd. in order to assess the current traffic situation as well as the market potential for IOV products. The survey found that the majority of car drivers were not pleased with the current traffic situation, and there is a significant market potential and sustainability for developing IOV products in China.
