摘要

Unnecessary vehicle movements such as rapid acceleration/deceleration and long-time idling occur around a signalized intersection. The unnecessary vehicle movements are able to be decreased by provision of appropriate information. In this study, we investigate actual vehicle movements and develop an information provision system reflecting the actual vehicle movements. The system is constructed with a 3D driving simulator. The system is able to indicate recommended speed on the display to reduce unnecessary vehicle movements. When drivers follow the indicated recommended speed, they can pass through the signalized intersection ahead without stopping. As a result, unnecessary vehicle movements were improved by the information provision system and CO_2 emission was also reduced.
