《ECODESIGN: METHODOLOGY AND GREEN GUIDE》 AREVA TD/DRC

Sustainable development involves a continuous preservation of the earth resources for future generations to meet their own needs. The evolution of environmental awareness promoted the emergence of "ecodesign" principles in the 90's. AREVA T&D, international leader in energy transmission and distribution, is also a pioneer in the adoption of Ecodesign concepts. Ecodesign constitutes an important evolution of sustainable development perception with a better protection of human life, environment and economic interests. It is an approach to improve environmental performances by the integration of environmental aspects in the development stage of the products. It considers all the environmental impacts during the different steps of a product life cycle: raw material extraction, manufacturing, distribution, usage and end of life. AREVA T&D/DRC has elaborated an ecodesign guide " green guide" in order to help the designer to conjugate the environment respect to the technical and economical characteristics when developing new products. This green guide gives the ecodesign method for electrical medium voltage equipment.
