EVOLUTION OF ENTERPRISE INFORMATION SYSTEMS IN THE INTERNET ERA: Contribution and Limits of new technologies and architectures

In the era of the Internet, small and large Enterprise Information Systems around the world are looking for Internet related solutions to evolve and maintain their new Internet Information Systems. In recent years, new technologies and architectures have emerged as solutions for the new requirements and challenge of future enterprise information systems such as: inter-enterprise cooperation, interoperability and integration, migration and heterogeneity management...etc. Among these technologies and architectures, Web services and Components technology, Workflow technology, Model Driven Architecture (MDA : MOF, UML, CWM,XMI,...), and the Grid Computing seem promising to face this challenge. This panel will focus on how these new technologies and architectures can contribute to shape human activities especially in organizations, in the support they may give for designing future information systems and on the trend of development, evolution and maintenance of such future Internet Enterprise Information Systems.
