Noise radars, providing near thumbtack autoambiguity signals, allow for fine resolution of targets in range and Doppler measurements. Both correlation processing as well as spectral interferometry require coherence, so the transmitters and receivers must be driven by highly stable oscillators as phase noise introduced into the system degrades the Doppler resolvability of the radar. We offer a technique to estimate the phase noise process through naturally collected radar data and fit stochastic models to the noise process. Phase noise models can be used in parametric correction techniques, which can have drastically reduced computational complexity when compared with nonparametric versions.
