High performance anode supported proton conducting solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) are fabricated and tested in syngas, which enable effective utilization of H_2 as fuel. The proposed co-production of concentrated CO and electricity using SOFCs is investigated. The presence of CO in the anode feed does not decrease fuel cell performance considerably and it is found that in the anode effluent, the CO is concentrated whereas H_2 is selectively removed with reasonable power output.
