Reformate gas was analyzed by micro-gas chromatograph (mGC), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and quadrupole mass spectrometry (QMS). By using gravimetrically calibrated mass flow controllers, preparation of stable and quantifiable steam was achieved by catalytic combustion of hydrogen, which can produce standard reformates with high precision by addition of CO_2, CO, or CH_4. It was demonstrated that gas analysis of reformates can be done with high precision (±0.4 mol.%) by mGC and FTIR.
