In this study, sol-gel technique was used to synthesize the cathode Ce_(0.7)Sr_(0.3)Fe_(0.9)Ir_(0.04)Co_(0.06)O_(3-δ) (CSFIC) perovskite material and it was then tested for its characteristic application in solid oxide fuel cell. The textural properties were tested using Raman spectroscopy and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. The crystal structure was tested using X-ray diffraction and the morphology and microstructure were examined using scanning electron microscopy and high resolution transmission electron microscopy. The power density and current density were measured with a Nuvant potentiostat and galvanostat from Fiaxell SOFC Technologies connected to the cell setup. These properties were tested for their potential application in low temperature solid oxide fuel cells from 300 to 500°C. It exhibited a current density of 772.35 mA/cm~2 and a power density of 455.49 mW/cm~2.
