Optical Burst Switching (OBS) is one of the most important switching technologies In future optical WDM networks and Internet. In this paper, a priority-based burst scheduling scheme called PBS for Optical Burst-switched WDM networks is proposed. It supports priority data burst classes (QoS) without extra offset time required by offset-based priority scheme pJET. A general model is proposed for analyzing and designing OBS burst scheduling schemes. In our model, we distinguish between basic offset time and priority offset time. Our burst scheduling scheme is scalable and performs better in data burst loss probability than pJET in supporting QoS in Optical Burst Switched WDM WAN.
