Using a Whole Angle mode of control, HRG reaches a high grade of precision which makes possible fast north finding and high precision pure inertial navigation in aeronautic or land conditions. HRG has also demonstrated a high immunity to mechanical and thermal stress. HRG is therefore well suited to the harsh environment of land applications. The next step then consisted in the development of a full navigation solution based on HRG and odometer (and GPS when available) for autonomous land applications.
