Colposcopio Digital para el Diagnóstico Precoz de Cáncer de Cuello del Útero

A digital videocolposcope is described. It was designed for the visual inspection of cervix of female patients during standard gynecological examinations. The system in-cludes a PC controlled high resolution CCD camera mounted on a mobile tripod which allows vertical and lateral adjust-ments. The zoom, focal distance, color saturation, hue and intensity levéis of real-time images are controlled by the PC commands sent to the camera vía RS232 serial port. The images displayed on a large screen monitor can be frozen, cap-tured or stored in a patient database in addition to other pa-tient's data and analysis. The colposcope has been tested and manufactured in sever-al short series. Currently some of those equipments are in-stalled in 20 health care centers.
