Hipertermia Electromagnética para el Tratamiento del Cáncer

摘要

The aim of this paper is to give a concise description of hyperthermia and a brief review of its clinical applications. Three main clinical applications of HT are presented. They include local, regional or part-body HT and whole-body HT that deliver heat to localized, advanced or deep-seated and disseminated malignancies, respectively, depending on location, depth and staging of the tumor. This therapy is defined as a temperature rising in tumors to cause lethal effects on them, and it is used as an adjuvant treatment of radio and chemotherapy since it can potentialize lethal effects on cancerous cells. At the end of this paper, we present the future trends of this therapy.
