Contrast enhancement is considered as one of the important characteristic in the field of image enhancement and histogram equalization is a simple and well known method for image contrast enhancement, this method uses the histogram of images in its processing. In spite of the fact that the traditional histogram equalization technique is generally acknowledged however this method experiences the disadvantage of "mean-shift" issue, i.e. Mean brightness of processed image will dependably be the center Gray level in any case the mean brightness of the input image. So it is not considered as the best technique for stand out upgrade from splendor protection. A few other histogram adjustment based systems have been acquainted with beat the downside of mean-shift issue. In this paper we will survey generally utilized histogram equalization methods utilized for difference upgrade and brilliance conservation.
