This paper presents a novel characterization of the Loop integrated Mach-Zehnder Interferometer (LMZI) optical fiber sensor in pipeline monitoring and vibrational sensing. The sensor was characterized according to the discrete changes of frequency ranges from 20 Hz to 500 Hz to verify the reliability before being implemented in the real field test. In the field test, the LMZI sensor was able to detect the vibration of water flow of the pipeline mock-up as well as the frequency induced during the leak event.
