Application of nonlinear surge arrestors for lightning protection of overhead power lines and modeling of overvoltage in dead-end substation

This paper describes the results of EMTP simulation of lightning overvoltage surge on the overhead transmission lines and the modeling variety of protection schemes using nonlinear surge arrestors to ensure adequate maintenance.
