A Predictor-Corrector Method for Solving Ammunition Amount in Future Airspace Window Shooting

Ammunition amount is a basic parameter for solving aiming point configuration in future airspace window (FAW). The existing researches only consider the aiming-points configuration (APC) and kill probability calculation when a certain ammunition amount is given, but seldom give attention to the ammunition amount to reach the predetermined kill probability, which is a vital problem for the application of FAW. A predictor-corrector model is provided, with the ammunition amount as initial value whose kill probability upper bound reaches the predetermined kill probability, by calculating the difference between the kill probability of practical APC and predetermined kill probability, the iteration processes on correcting the ammunition amount with the derivative of kill probability function. The convergence of the iteration is proved. The simulation demonstrated the convergence and precision. This model fills the gap of calculating shooting ammunition amount, which contributes to the further research and application of fire control, aiming-points-configuration, and effectiveness evaluation of future airspace window.
