Long-period grating based optical fiber sensors are developed to 1) detect supercritical CO_2 in brine for carbon sequestration, and 2) measure water dew-point (condensation) in air and CO_2 streams. The sensitivity of long-period grating to local refractive index of surrounding medium is used as the basis of the measurement.
