QUALITY CONTROL OF CHANG JIANG INLAND ENC 2.0 SOURCE DATA

In order to meet the increasing need of Chang Jiang's waterborne transportation, the inland ENC has chosen to make full use of the established navigation environment in addition to regular waterway maintenance. Due to China's special navigation environment, inland navigation in China has some fundamental distinctions from those of the U.S and Europe. Furthermore, with different navigation aids and other objects, which are defined for the first time in the Chang Jiang ENC, a valid quality control method is urgently needed. This paper analyzes the source-data production of the Chang Jiang ENC, from a quality inspection of pre-processed data to source data production and quality check methods. Finally, a set of effective quality control methods are investigated for the Chang Jiang ENC source data, which has already proven to be useful and productive.
