In this paper, an interruption simulation model for 252kV SF6 Circuit Breaker is built according to MHD theory. Through the calculation, the distributions of the arc column temperature and flow field during the interruption process are acquired considering two different arcing times. The gas pressure, temperature and voltage of the arc plasma in different arcing times are presented. Two analysis points at the pressure cylinder and the nozzle throat are observed. Relationships between dynamic arc plasma characteristics and different arcing times are analyzed. The simulation results show that the arc burning 14ms is easier to extinguish.
