摘要

UPS of Russia is a unique power system. Its operating conditions are quite different in comparisonwith power systems of other developed countries. In such operating conditions excitation control ofsynchronous generators plays not only technological role, but also is used as a powerful tool of voltageregulation and emergency automation for the security of reliability and survivability of power system.That’s why in the power system of Russia special demands to the excitation control and in particularto the automatic voltage regulators and power system stabilizers are operating. According to thedemands operating in UPS of Russia, all prototype models of excitation automatic controllers beforeinstallation in power system should pass the functioning tests according to the standard programapproved by the key institutions of the power industry. In the report the conclusion about efficiency ofan AVR certification technique applied in Russia, which ensures checking of a hardwarerepresentation of control law and allows to eliminate bugs of algorithmic and program character, isperformed. The realized technique of certification of automatic excitation controllers in the conditionsof physical model of power system and criteria of their efficiency estimation will be disputed duringthe meetings of IEC Maintenance Team No. 12 Excitation systems for synchronous machines(revision of the IEC 60034-16 series).
