Aimed at the problems of damping winding vibration and broken caused by electromagnetic force, thedamper winding electromagnetic forces under rated load operation and negative sequence operation conditions of thegenerator were quantitatively calculated, and the peak values and distributions of the electromagnetic force wereobtained. At the same time, through the establishment of the finite element method mathematical models of the hydrogeneratorwith different damper winding connection features, the influencing factors of electromagnetic force on thedamper windings were quantitatively analyzed. The calculation results indicate that the value and distribution ofelectromagnetic force on damper windings are much different between rated load operating and negative sequenceoperating conditions, the connection feature of the damper windings could have influence on electromagnetic forceson damper windings. These factors should be taken into account in hydro-generator design.
