The machine has a rotor, stator, and a winding that comprises a lower winding bar (18) and an upper winding bar (17). The winding bars run in an axial direction and rest on top of each other. The lower and upper winding bars are arranged in respective winding slots such that ends of the respective winding bars lay one over the other and cross each other in a radial direction. A single-piece connecting element is provided for connecting the winding bars, where the connecting element is designed as round threaded guide (27) that is oriented in radial direction.
