Tablet computers are becoming ubiquitous and enable new ways to provide information.Specifically, the tablet's touchscreen offers a novel way for an individual to interact with 3Dgraphics. Current learning directives such as the US Army ALC 2015 push for the use of mobiledevices, to be used for training. The current paper proposes a conceptual framework for mediabasedinstruction of psychomotor tasks to be conducted on tablets. The framework is based onCognitive Load Theory and associated interaction principles. The framework can be used toinvestigate different types of graphic interaction, which we label dynamic interactive graphicsand dynamic automated graphics. Dynamic interactive graphics provide the highest level ofinteraction while dynamic automated graphics provide less interaction by including automatedfunctions.
