The factors influencing knowledge-sharing intention are of major concern to the KMS inorganization. Among the diverse theories employed to help understand this is user satisfaction, whichusers believe that the information system available to them meets their information requirements as amajor factor determining usage.This theory, however, ignores the personal cognition dimension, which has been found to affectthe use of an IS. By integrating user satisfaction and social cognitive theory (SCT), we attempted todetermine the key factors affecting KMS self-efficacy, outcome expectancy and knowledge-sharingintention. Through a survey of 276 KMS users, user satisfaction, KMS self-efficacy and outcome2expectancies were found to have substantial influences on knowledge-sharing intention. Among thekey factors, user satisfaction factors were found to be especially important as it was substantially andpositively correlated to SCT.
