A CALL TO INCLUDE WORKFLOW MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS IN MIS CURRICULUM

Despite being identified as an emerging topic, Work Flow Management Systems (WMS) havenot been included in the Management Information Systems (MIS) curriculum of mostUniversities. We argue for the inclusion of WMS as an independent course and develop theframework for a full-fledged workflow management module in MIS. We explore the WMScomponents and the influential factors that are important for pedagogy and we conclude with theoutline of a model curriculum.
