The same mathematical base must be given in GIS spatial data and RS image integration for their common Geo-coding. The coordinates systems, such as geographic, projection, geodetic, ellipsoid and datum, all are the mathematical base of spatial data. The selection and transformation of these elements will directly influence the following image processing and geographic information analyses. In order to overcome these disadvantages in RS and GIS softwares, the difference and relation of these coordinates systems were analyzed. And these systems are based on the physical and geometric approximations of the earth's surface.
