Machine tools are the backbone of all manufacturing processes. Reducing their complexity, improving performance, reliability and cost effectiveness should be the aim of all new machine designs. Achieving this goal requires the customer, designer and manufacturer to consider the machines true purpose and to focus the design to achieve the best possible result in a cost effective manner. This design has achieved this by removing the need for complex closed loop error correction. The offset bed and novel carriage has increased stiffness and reduced the sensitivity to roll errors over a wide range of components.
