As the nuclear power industry's pressurized water reactor (PWR) steam generator fleet ages, utilities are encouraged to be proactive and perform secondary side maintenance operations, inspections, and assessments in order to ensure steam generator integrity and performance. Through proactive measures, the industry can prolong its steam generator fleet's operating lives while also improving plant performance and ensuring plant safety. In addition, the industry is encouraged to assess the potential impacts of current and future plant operating conditions on its steam generators in order to optimize steam generator performance.
