Obtaining energy from vegetable oils is a widely applied technology in many regions. There arecurrently many studies and applications based on the use of vegetable oils, mainly promoted by policies aimed toreducing greenhouse gases emissions. The oils in contact with air at atmospheric conditions suffer changes in theirchemical nature and its organoleptic character. At the storage stage, decomposition products are generated from theoil, namely: peroxides, alcohols, aldehydes, carboxylic acids and acetone. In the case of storage of rapeseed oil forfuel utilization, there are few studies centred on the conditions of storage. However, as far as we know there are nostudies focused in its use as biofuel. In this work different conditions of storage have been studied. These conditionsare applicable in the Mediterranean zone. This study aims to analyse the degradation of rapeseed oil as fuel accordingto the parameters that analyse degradation of rapeseed oil from the German standard DIN 51605, focusing on fourdifferent storage conditions.
