The paper presents the measurement results of LED lamps marketed as replacement options for a 60-watt incandescent lamp in 2013. The results show that the luminous efficacy and the colour rendering index have increased compared to the LED lamps measured in previous studies. Great variation was found in the measured luminous intensity distributions of various LED lamp types compared to that of the incandescent lamp, though LED lamps were marketed as replacement lamps for the incandescent lamp. To better communicate the variation of light distribution to consumers, a voluntary label is proposed.
