In summary, we have successfully designed and synthesized GeneO-COO-β-CD hybrids. The analytical results indicate that GeneO-COOH form a core while a large number of β-CDs form a shell with special structure (β-CD:GeneO-COOH=30:1). Our recent work is focusing on the fabrication of GeneO-COO-β-CD/ chlorhexidine (CA) inclusion and investigation on its drug delivery properties. Preliminary results show that the anti-bacterial property of the inclusion is greatly improved with less drug dosage.
