摘要

The OBM presents a promising in vitro model system for studying physiologically relevant interactions between BC cells and the bone microenvironment in BM. With this model we may gain insights into the mechanisms by which the microenvironment at the bone metastatic niche regulates drug-responsiveness of BC cells. The current lack of physiological models in cancer biology hampers drug development. The OBM model has the potential to become an effective drug testing platform specifically designed and relevant for bone metastatic disease.
