CaP granules-aggregates for bone void filler applications

摘要

In this work CaP granules with controlled size, microporosity and different chemical compositions were characterized. All granules are spherical with porous surface and internal microporosity. These parameters can be modulated to favor or limit the chemical dissolution of bone graft. Such features if properly matched should facilitate bone tissue in-growth, biomaterial resorption and bone void filling as demonstrated by preliminary in vivo experiments.
