NTA is a suitable method to measure the average size, the size distribution, and the concentration of exosomes. With NTA and the prior determination of protein concentration the protein concentration per exosome can be estimated. Therefore, it is necessary to purify the exosomes in a suitable way. The purification by chromatography and subsequent ultra centrifugation leads to a higher purity of the exosomes than the purification by ultra centrifugation. To determine the proteins in exosomes, the samples should be purified by chromatography and centrifugation.
